Disenfranchised Voter Tally

Disenfranchised Voter Tally Now At 320

Another 32 citizens who have lawfully supported a candidate for state office have been rejected because that candidate is not a Republican or a Democrat.  Signatures in Maryland election law have no review procedure and no standard for legibility or matching their registered name, UNLESS you support a petition candidate. The Maryland board of elections has one set of rules for citizens participating in “Corporate Politics” then another rigid, strictly enforced, separate set of rules applied only to un-affiliated citizen legislators and their supporters.  This explains the 25+ year old un-told story of NO-ONE in Frederick succeeding at ballot access through the petition process.

Our second round of signatures had a 79% acceptance rate (up from 42%) and has generated a large amount of very committed support (and anger) among re-signers.  So for that I say thank you to the MD BOE.

I want to take a minute to define “corporate politics” and explain why I chose this path for my candidacy.  I have labeled big Democrat and big Republican as essentially large corporations that have abandoned their principles long ago and exist now only to sustain themselves and grow their control over the unrestrained Federal tyranny. Both corporations use monopolistic tactics and enforce anti-competitive rules on those outside their world of influence.  Big Democrat generally depend s on fear to force citizens to trade individual liberty for a promise of security. Big Republican generally intimidates (threatens) property and business owners to support them so they can provide loop-holes or targeted protection from excessive taxation and regulation. Each tactic is despicable and contrary to the nature of liberty and free commerce. This brings me to why I chose this path for my candidacy.  As I studied the size and scope of this problem I felt the solution must originate in our state legislatures, with citizens abandoning their allegiance to a party, standing on the principles of our founding and actually and committing to dismantle the destructive system of “corporate politics”.

Thank you to all who have helped, and who can help now. I am still gathering signatures until high noon Aug.2 and have a paypal account on my website for anyone that would like to donate. www.md4guenthner.com

.

Frederick MD legilative district 4A

Disenfranchised voter total: 288

52% of  the registered voters in district 4A that signed the petition to give me access to the ballot as an un-affiliated candidate have been disqualified for their signature not “exactly matching their printed name” or excluding the middle initial. Included among these are my signature (the candidate), my wife, Frederick county State’s Attorney Charlie Smith, and some residents who have signed, been rejected, signed again and were rejected again.  I am in the process of asking previous signers to resign. Most are dubious as they used “their signature” as it appears on their driver’s license and is accepted everywhere else in election law. The standard that is being applied is new for the 2010 election cycle and is only applied to petition signatures, providing an unequal application of the law to unaffiliated voters or supporters of an unaffiliated candidate.

Do you wonder why elections today leave you with only the choice of the lesser of two evils? Is this an accident? Why would they seek to exclude a citizen legislator with a heart-felt passion for liberty and the commitment to dismantle the means to which they have been accustomed?

Both major parties have failed constitutional liberty and implemented a system to crush citizen competition.  If you would like to sign the petition and help get the first un-affiliated state candidate in Maryland on the ballot, please visit www.md4guenthner.com or e-mail me at scott@md4g.com .
